On June 15, 2025, the Cricket World will get its New ICC World Test Champions, one of the defending champions, Australia or the mighty Proteas, South Africa. Seeing which teams prevail this time will be quite interesting. WTC 3 will come to an end with this. A new World Test Championship cycle will begin on June 17, 2025, following the final match. On June 20, 2025, Team India will play England in the opening match of the WTC 2025–27 cycle.

Following the retirement of senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Team India now has Shubman Gill as their new test leader.

The squad for the upcoming India vs. England test series has already been revealed. In their home conditions, England appears to be stronger than India. Experienced players, including captain Ben Stokes, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Duckett, and Zack Crawley, are eager to get retribution for India's loss against them the previous season. Because of Gus Atkinson's injury, England is having some bowling issues. Because of a strained hamstring, Atkinson was ruled out. Sam Cook, Brydon Carse, Jamie Overton, Josh Tongue, and Chris Woakes are the three fast bowlers the hosts may give a chance in the first Test match once Atkinson is dismissed.

On the Other hand, Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, and Mohammed Siraj are the players who have already played in English Conditions earlier. Apart from these guys, most of the other players have made it to England for the first time in their careers. The Indian Team also has some new debutants, including Arshdeep Singh, Sai Sudharsan, and Abhimanyu Easwaran. After eight years, Karun Nair is scheduled to return.

The First Test Match of the series will be played between both two teams from June 20, 2025, at Headingly, Leeds. The Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham will host the second Test from July 02-06. The third Test will begin on July 10, 2025, at Lord's Cricket Ground. The fourth and fifth Tests of the series will be held at Old Trafford from July 23-27 and Kennington Oval from July 31- August 4, respectively.

In the final Test series between these two teams, played in 2024, India defeated England 4-1 under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. The England team is hoping to get revenge on the young Indian team at home in the upcoming cricket series. The series ended in a 2-2 draw on the most recent trip to England. Virat Kohli guided India to a 2-1 lead in the opening four matches of the 2021 England Tour. However, due to COVID-19, the last match took place in 2022, when England tied the series with a 7-wicket victory.
